Who is our trash hauler?

WasteManagement provides all of our pickups - trash, recycling, and yard waste.  For service-related issues, please contact the WasteManagement support center through their website.

 

When is our  regular trash and recycling pickup day?

Trash and recycling pickup is Thursday. Trash pickup occurs every week and recycling pickup occurs every other week.  Please have your approved containers out by 6:00 AM to ensure pickup. The holiday schedule and pickup ETA for trash, recycling, and yard waste can be found on the provider’s website.

 

What is the schedule and rules for Yard Waste pickup?

Yard Waste is picked up weekly on our regular trash pickup day (Thursday), from March through December. There is no yard waste pickup in January and February.

 

You are required to use compostable paper bags for all grass and yard waste. These bags can be purchased from most major hardware stores, grocery stores. Limbs and twigs may be bundled and tied with string/twine without placing them in a compostable bag.  The number of bags/bundles of yard waste is limited to 10 bags/bundles per home per week.

 

When are Large Item pickup days?

An annual large item pickup can be scheduled with WasteManagement using the Tidy Town voucher provided by the City of Shawnee.
